20 fast-growing French startups
LinkedIn presents a ranking of "rising stars of French tech". This ranking, based on exclusive data, highlights the 20 startups that, from generative AI to nuclear power, quantum computing or sustainable development, are shaping the future in their sector. At the top of the list is Mistral AI, an artificial intelligence startup that has once again made a name for itself in this type of ranking.
A healthy ecosystem for French startups
LinkedIn is once again offering a ranking this year, the "20 Top Startups of 2025", the 8th edition of this type of ranking.
In 2025, according to LinkedIn, "French start-ups are navigating through uncertainty", not least because of an "unpredictable macroeconomic context". Yet they continue to "generate strong growth (+16% sales in the first half), and create jobs". According to the professional network, Paris has become "for the first time this year, the most attractive European capital for innovative companies, ahead of London". In this respect, "the colossal fund-raising and spectacular valuations of French champions such as Mistral AI and Pennylane" confirm the healthy state of the French start-up ecosystem.
Heading
In the words of the network, these burgeoning nuggets include "20 of France's most dynamic start-ups", covering a wide range of cutting-edge sectors. Ranging "from artificial intelligence to vehicle electrification, quantum computing and nuclear power", these young companies are developing "innovative solutions that are shaping the future of their sector and attracting top talent".
In the top podium:
- Mistral AI, a startup developing generative artificial intelligence models. Since the beginning of the year, says LinkedIn, Mistral AI has multiplied its partnerships with major groups, such as the BNP Paribas bank. Its valuation "now stands at over 10 billion euros, making it the very first French decacorne" (a decacorne being a startup with multiple valuations);
- Finary, a fintech offering a wealth management application that aggregates data from all bank accounts (current, savings, crypto...). In 2025, Finary will launch new financial products (Equity Savings Plan and Retirement Savings Plan);
- Pennylane, a management platform that "centralizes all a company's financial flows in real time, manages invoicing and produces accounting documents". According to LinkedIn, this fintech raised €75 million in 2025 "to focus on R&D and prepare for e-invoicing reform".
Deeptech dominates the Top 10
In the Top 10, after the top three startups, LinkedIn ranked :
- Dust, specialized in software development that enables companies to create personalized AI agents, conversational robots trained from specific company information to facilitate their employees' work ;
- Riot, an IT security startup that develops software for raising employee awareness of cyber risks, enabling real-time assessment of a company's employees' exposure to cyber-attacks;
- MakiPeople, a startup founded in 2022, which specializes in AI agents for recruitment. These robots are tasked with automating "a large part of the hiring process by evaluating candidates";
- Electra, which manufactures and installs fast-charging stations for electric vehicles, enabling users to recharge their batteries in around twenty minutes;
- Alice et Bob, which is developing a quantum computer capable of avoiding calculation errors thanks to "cat qubit" (superconducting qubit) technology;
- Dattak, an "insurtech specialized in cyber risk", which offers VSEs and SMEs solutions that combine insurance and prevention against cyber-attacks;
- Resilience Care, a startup with targeted healthcare objectives: it offers a mobile application that supports cancer patients during their treatment with "a remote patient monitoring solution".
Greater diversity in the Top 20
Beyond the Top 10, ten more diverse companies, specializing in sustainable development, events, aeronautics and the automotive sector, round off this Top Startups list. They are :
- Sifflet, developing software for automated monitoring of all financial, sales and marketing data generated by a company;
- Flowdesk, specialized in capital markets, offering a "market-making" infrastructure enabling its customers to connect several trading platforms together;
- Verkor, which manufactures low-carbon batteries for the automotive industry;
- Bump, a company specializing in influencer marketing to support "the development of content creators on social networks";
- Beyond Aero, a Toulouse-based startup working on the design of a hydrogen-powered electric aircraft;
- Zeliq, which is developing a platform "enabling sales reps to bring together different prospecting tools";
- Naboo, the champion of corporate seminars, whose platform enables "turnkey events" to be organized;
- Sweep, a Montpellier-based startup offering software to help large companies reduce their carbon footprint;
- Hexana, a company based in Aix-en-Provence, which has designed a mini fast neutron nuclear reactor that aims to decarbonize the economy by replacing coal-fired power plants, for example;
- Najar, a start-up developing "a solution that references all the paid-for software used by a company and identifies duplication, misuse or overpriced subscriptions".
To compile this list, LinkedIn evaluated the startups on the basis of four criteria: growth in headcount, companies' observed engagement with their LinkedIn pages (and those of their employees), the level of interest in their job offers, and their attractiveness to top talent.
The network offers the same type of ranking, its Top Startups 2025, for other countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States.
